How to make a PDF from photos
A PDF made from photos is only as good as the photos: straight, evenly lit and in the right order.
Shoot first, convert second
Put the document on a flat, contrasting surface and shoot from directly above. Side light creates shadows that compression turns into grey smears.
Order matters
Converters keep the order in which files are added. Name the files 01, 02, 03 before dropping them in, or add them one at a time in sequence.
Size and resolution
Each page is sized to its image, so original resolution is preserved. A 12-megapixel phone photo is plenty for an A4 page; cropping to the document first makes the PDF smaller and easier to read.
Check the result before sending
Open the PDF once, scroll every page, and confirm nothing is cut off. If a page is rotated, fix the photo and rebuild rather than rotating inside a viewer that the recipient may not have.
